About Us

Our History

The MetroWest Free Medical Program was founded in 2004 by medical director Paul Hart, MD and members of Congregation Beth El. Since the program first opened its doors, it has provided medical care to more than 7,500 uninsured and underinsured patients in the MetroWest area.

In order to meet the increasing demand for health care services by our patient population, in 2008, the program expanded to a second location at First Parish Church in Framingham.

The MetroWest Free Medical Program continues to expand services to meet the needs of those in the community who lack health insurance or who cannot find a doctor that accepts their insurance. In 2015, the program served over 1,450 patient visits.

The program is run by dedicated volunteers from the community. Professional staff include physicians, nurses, social workers, and interpreters Volunteers also serve as patient greeters, educators, and provide other patient services.
