Throughout our history, we have had space generously donated to us.
With COVID-19 precautions at Congregation Beth El in Sudbury and the sale of 110 Edgell Road by First Parish in Framingham-UU, we now need a dedicated space.
Our Vision Program is now located at Lexington Eye Associates in Sudbury, and we are grateful for their commitment! Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center in Framingham is kindly serving as the temporary location for Adult Medicine and Women's Health as we identify new space.
As of May 2022, we have over 300 patients waiting for in-person appointments with our general medicine and women's health volunteer providers.
Will you join us today in helping to serve more patients by funding our dedicated space?
“It is an honor to be able to support the MetroWest Free Medical Program in memory of my father, Dr. “Bud” Hurwitz.
Working to establish the clinic at Temple Beth El in Sudbury in the early 2000s was a labor of love for Dad. He believed in “tikkun olam”— working to repair the world. As he slowed down his work at his orthopedic practice in Marlborough, he put his energies into making sure adequate medical care was available to all— establishing the clinic, volunteering weekly, obtaining supplies and recruiting other medical providers. Even after Dad moved from Sudbury to Dedham, he drove to the clinic weekly to care for others; he did this until he had to give up driving at the age of 85. When he passed away in late 2020, it was the Clinic and his medical school that my siblings and I felt were where Dad would best be honored. He would be delighted to know that the clinic has survived the pandemic and providers are back seeing patients in person.
It is my pleasure to honor his memory with a gift to the clinic.”
